Rover K series engine, high or eratick idle speed common fault

A common fault with the Rover K series engine is an eratick or high idle speed problem, this fault is normally caused by the wronge grade of spark plugs being fitted. This causes a lot of electro static radio interferance sround the ignition coil, this causes the ECU’s idle speed software to become corrupt as the ECU is located directly next to the ignition coil. To rectify this problem the spark plugs will need to be changed for the correct grade Champion plugs and a replacement ECU will need to be sought. The worste offending plugs for radio interference tends to be an NGK spark plug.
